Applying for Email Marketing Manager…

Take a Chance on Me

Hi Silencer Shop team,

I was going to apply through the portal…
Then I read your job description.

After references to unseasoned chicken breast, Captain Holt, and BINGPOT, a traditional application felt aggressively off-brand.

So instead: cue ABBA’s Take a Chance on Me.

I know I’m probably not the candidate with the deepest email marketing platform experience…yet.

But, I do bring a strong marketing background, sharp analytical skills, creativity, audience intuition, internet fluency, and the kind of humor that understands the difference between clever and cringe.

I care deeply about good marketing and, frankly, a bad email makes me irrationally annoyed. Generic subject lines. Poor timing. Zero segmentation. The digital equivalent of yelling into the void and hoping someone clicks.

I’m the type of marketer who likes understanding what actually works. Why did people engage? What changed conversion? What pattern are the numbers showing? I enjoy testing, optimizing, and figuring out the “why” behind performance.

I’m also already investing time learning the deeper mechanics of email ecosystems — deliverability, lifecycle flows, segmentation, personalization, and how to avoid the spam-folder cemetery.

You mentioned comfort around firearms and the 2A community, so in the interest of transparency: I come with extensive firearm familiarity. Exhibit A attached: prom photos featuring a shotgun long before I ever worked in marketing.

I may not arrive with the exact same resume as every other applicant, but I do think I bring something useful: strong instincts, adaptability, creativity, humor, analytics, and the ability to genuinely understand an audience without sounding like a corporation trying to use Gen Z slang six months too late.

If nothing else, hopefully this email earned an open rate.

Resume attached. Shotgun prom evidence included.

BINGPOT,

Meg Messitt
